
VENTURES AFRICA – Plans are underway for this year’s 2nd annual IT Infrastructure Africa. This year’s edition will be hosted by Kinetic Events on the 12th and 13th of July 2012 at the Westin Hotel in Cape Town, South Africa, this was contained in a press release made available to Ventures Africa by the organisers.
According to Kinetic Events, the focus of this year’s edition is on information technology infrastructure challenges facing the African IT industry; especially those that are preventing enterprises within the continent from attaining international standards.
This year, the summit will beam the searchlight on data infrastructure with participants evaluating data integration and examining interoperability across different degrees of scale, data flows between disciplines, and data exchange.
The summit will be a meeting point for various leading technology and IT solutions providers who will positively engage participants via interactive demonstrations, strategic workshops and focused presentations.
In a press release, explaining what participating organizations will benefit from the event, the organisers disclosed that the 2012 ITI Africa Summit presents participants with numerous avenues for guidance and monitoring which are required for efficiency and cost-effectiveness in their various organizations.
It also added that participants will avail themselves the opportunity of accessing modern advancements in technology that simplify processes and guarantee reliability and response.
Highlights of the summit includes topical and interactive workshops that focus on data centre infrastructural management, where participants will be exposed to specialized software and hardware which can assist data centres in identifying and eliminating risks; increase availability of critical IT systems; and facilitate identification of interdependencies between facility and IT infrastructures.
