An inspirational woman! I’m glad she achieved what she did – but we (black community) need more people like her. I for example crave the leadership and mentor-ship of someone who has dreamt the dream and is now living it (apart from my dad – love my dad); especially from a woman. Currently, in the media there is a lack of high profile black individuals who are positive role-models. All we are been fed are the stereotypes. People need to know people to get somewhere so positive black role models need to stand up and take charge. Mavis I would love to meet you. It hurts me when people use ‘black’ in a derogatory manner, we need to fight to reduce the statistics. ‘Black power’. Folake, good story.
